| Dame Evelyn Glennie Climbs Mount Kilimanjaro in Regatta Gear | |
| On 2nd December the deaf percussionist, Dame Evelyn Glennie climbed Mount Kilimanjaro wearing Regatta kit top to toe, raising valuable funds for Able Child Africa. The reason why Evelyn chose to climb Mount Kilimanjaro is that she had made it her mission to make a difference and she felt the time had come to put herself completely outside her own comfort zone to demonstrate her commitment to the charity. Evelyn is the first person in musical history to successfully create and sustain a full-time career as a solo percussionist. As one of the most innovative musicians on the scene today she is constantly redefining the goals and expectations of percussion. She gives more than 100 performances a year worldwide. Her diversity of collaborations have included artists such as Nana Vasconcelos, Kodo, Bela Fleck, Bjork, Bobby McFerrin, Sting, Emmanuel Ax, Kings Singers, Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Fred Frith. In 1993, Evelyn was awarded the OBE. This was extended to 'Dame Commander' for her services to music and to date has received over 80 international awards. Able Child Africa, is a charity who fund education facilities for the disabled which is particularly close to Evelyn's heart because she benefited immensely from the Peripatetic services provided for her when she lost her hearing as a young girl. Evelyn is very aware that the assistance she had, made a huge difference to her life, her career choices and eventual success. She very much wanted to give something back. |  |

| Walking in a Winter Wonderland | |
| You know Christmas is just around the corner when you see the amazing attractions of the Winter Wonderland set up at Hyde Park! For the 3rd year running, Regatta is the official clothing sponsor of the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland – a fantastic family event. This year will be the biggest yet because as part of the sponsorship, you’ll be able to buy Regatta clothing and accessories in the dedicated Regatta chalet! With festive fun for all the family, the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park offers free admission to all and is open between 10am and 10pm from Saturday 19th November until Sunday 4th January. There are loads of attractions including outdoor ice skating, a giant wheel, a giant toboggan snow slide and many more family rides and attractions to keep you entertained for hours. The new Winter Cirque is a one-hour performance featuring contortionists, aerialists, acrobats, the heart-stopping Wheel of Death and a final battle of fire! |  |
